Livity Sound

Livity Sound is a Bristol label and party founded by Peverelist in 2011, and it has become one of the key global benchmarks for hybrid, rhythm-led dance music.

Peverelist, one of the most important figures in Bristol electronic music, came up through the city's dubstep scene and ran his first label, Punch Drunk, before launching Livity Sound. His approach to the sound system tradition draws on techno, jungle, dub, grime and garage, in pursuit of a sound that is both uplifting and innovative. If there is such a thing as a "Livity sound", Headfirst notes, it comes from that approach: unbound by genre, focused on percussion, and true to the fundamentals of great sound system music.

The label helped carry Bristol's independent club music to an international audience, and its parties are still a highlight of the city's calendar.

This week Peverelist and Hodge play another all-night back to back for Livity Sound at The Love Inn on 24 October. Peverelist also supports Dusky at Electric Bristol on 30 October.
